My king room had modern conveniences, including a flat-screen TV with cable channels and central heating. Location: the hotel was near to old town as well as Bilbao due to last-minute problems when boading the ferry in Santander. It also was close to everything.

The shared bathroom was clean and the staff provided fresh towels and bed linen. We felt right at home at Pension Martinez.

I personally would have preferred if the room had soundproofing, as sometimes we could hear noise from outside. But I know some people enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city, so it might not bother everyone.

The cable TV was a great addition for unwinding after a long day of exploring. As a bike rider, it was just the perfect retreat for me!

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom. But hey, some people might not mind it at all!
